Surprise!

I made it to class on time! For the first time this section, possibly this semester.  Even though I was on time, the extra time didn't really help much.  HTML and CSS are still super confusing to me.  Especially once we started using  DreamWeaver.  I understand the basics and the theory, I guess, but DreamWeaver is just ridiculous.  It makes me glad to be a journalism major and not graphic design, computer science, or anything with web design.

  1. Haha congrats on making it to class on time yesterday. I'm late for almost everything except for this class...and I don't know why that is.

I'm definitely with you on being glad to be a journalism major. HTML, CSS, and HTTP are synonymous with WTF! I guess I can figure things out in class with the help of Hatch, but I definitely need more time with this material before I could do any of it by myself.

Who knew there were so many codes, numbers, and backslashes that make up the Web? It is rather amazing how simplistic and bland the process is. I think being told that DreamWeaver is useless and that we have better technology today was a mistake...now I have no desire to learn HTML. You don't see anyone bringing their typewriter to the library just for the sake of it...we've all got Microsoft Word.

Anywho, just wanted to say you're not alone. HTML and CSS are confusing.

  2. I know what you mean. I have some friends who are studying computer science and I'm always awestruck when I see them robotically typing pages of these long-winded codes off the top of their heads. I try to dabble in it from time to time, but overall, I'm glad we're not dealing with Dreamweaver in this class.

  3. You made it on-time to an 8:30 AM class... that's a huge accomplishment for any college student haha!

I'm always on time because I have an obsessive compulsive fear of being late. I usually end up being 20 minutes early places and have to occupy myself somehow. Let's just say, I'm a doodling master!

And yes, Dreamweaver is NO fun. I'm kind of hoping that was a one-class occurrence haha. (We'll see :) ... See you in class!

  4. Don't worry... we won't spend too much more time with Dreamweaver. HTML and CSS shouldn't scare you, but we won't do much more with them anyway.
